Loíza has an allied in Taller Salud
Taller Salud, a non-profit organization anchored in the conviction that when women thrive, their communities flourish, has been an allied of Loíza for the past 25 years. In the aftermath of hurricanes Irma and María they have been able to pull together a plan with a three-prong approach: 1) provide immediate needs to families; 2) support emergency shelters in Loíza and: 3) continuous needs assessment of the community.
Puerto Rico Community Foundation provided a grant to Taller Salud that will allow them to provide uncooked meals to families in Loíza, that lasts up to three days for a family of four. They will also provide food and other essentials to four communities whose leaders have been cooking and providing food for up to 600 people.
